Aquamarine, Pakistan...

A watercolour painting of an aquamarine specimen from Pakistan. This specimen was on display at Tucson in 2011. The painting is on black card (the sort used for matting pictures) using only three watercolour pigments. This is a larger painting than I normally do (see 2nd photo).

Rogerley Fluorite...

A stunning fluorite stalactite from the Rogerley Mine, Weardale, England. A classic English fluorite deposit. This specimen for sale at the 2011 Tucson Show in the UK Mining Ventures room.

Painted using watercolour and a little gouache on black paper.

The original painting has found a new home.

Parisite-(Ce), Malawi...

Painted in the lead up to the 2012 Joint Australian Mineralogical Societies Seminar in Perth, with the theme being rare earth minerals. Parisite is not something that you pick up out in the bush! This specimen was up for sale in Tucson last year and is a very large specimen for the species. It comes from Mount Malosa in Malawi and was priced at $4,500.

Painted using watercolour and a little gouache on black paper.

The original painting has found a new home.

This painting went into an exhibition at Beaufort, Victoria, and was on display over the Queens Birthday long weekend on  9th to 11th of June. It looks great framed up and was listed for sale at $450. No buyers though.

Calcite, Malmberget, Sweden...

Half way through April, and this is the first mineral painting for the year I think. I suppose there has been a bit on...

This is a specimen of golden calcite from Malmberget in Sweden.

The original painting will soon be on it's way to it's new home.
